Developing a comprehensive high-value University Curriculum Modules for the Social Protection Program (Transform Program) for Somaliland

Conducting Assurance Activities (HACT) for UNICEF Implementing Partners in association with Moore Stephens Yemen

The purpose of assurance activities is to determine whether the funds transferred to UNICEF Implementing Partners were used for their intended purpose and in accordance with the work plan. Without appropriate completion of the assurance activities, the HACT framework would only serve as a mechanism for risk assessment/ identification, rather than a mechanism for risk management and mitigation. This would expose the United Nations to significant risk and audit findings. The components of financial assurance activities are Spot Checks, Micro Assessments, Audits and Special Audits.  

Consultancy Project to Identify the Demand for Business Development Services (BDS)

This assignment was to inform the design of the Gargaara Business Development Services program by identifying (i) key weaknesses in the MSME applications for Gargaara financing; (ii) BDS needs in the different segments of the MSME sector; (iii) MSME willingness to pay for different BDS services; (iv) MSME incentives to seek BDS services; (v) most appropriate modalities/implementation arrangements to deliver BDS services to Somali MSMEs. In addition, the work should identify partnerships that could increase BDS outreach to target MSMEs.
